Reuben Slone, EVP Supply Chain OfficeMax, Dr John T. (Tom) Mentzer, Chancellor's Professor, Bruce Excellence Chair of Business, University of Tennesee & Paul Dittmann, Executive Director Demand Supply Integration Forums, University of Tennesee will be presenting a webinar to the SCM World community on their new book 'The New Supply Chain Agenda: 5 Steps That Drive Real Value' to be published by Harvard Business Publishing in May 2010.

Reuben, Tom & Paul wrote this book as free of jargon as possible, so that it can be read by anyone interested in learning more about driving excellence with the new supply chain agenda. The book's message is founded on a 500-company strong database, from which the examples, stories and quotations used throughout the book are drawn.

The intent of The New Supply Chain Agenda is to help unlock true supply chain excellence in the firm, and provide a sustainable way to reduce inventory and costs, while increasing customer fill rates. These actions translate into balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow improvements which together will yield more economic profit for the firm – and as we show, economic profit connects supply chain excellence directly to shareholder value.

In the Webinar, we will discuss how this new supply chain agenda can be achieved by building a supply chain strategy resting on five pillars of excellence:
  1. Pick the Right Leaders and Develop Supply Chain Talent
  2. Keep Up with Supply Chain Technologies and Trends
  3. Eliminate Cross-Functional Disconnects That Cripple the Supply Chain
  4. Collaborate with Suppliers and Customers
  5. Implement a Disciplined Process of Project and Change Management to Successfully Get Things DonePlease check the webinar programme for full details.
