Supply Chain Council run Three Part Series on the SCOR Model
23 May 2009
Douglas Kent, the European Chairman of the Supply Chain Council will lead a three part webinar series for the SCM World Supply Chain Community focussed on three aspects of the SCOR Model:
Using SCOR To Extract Value From ERP Implementations:
The monies have been spent and the implementation of the new ERP system installed in time and under budget. Why are companies not rejoicing. The automation of bad business processes only deliver poor outputs faster. Learn how to apply the SCOR model to extract value from your ERP implementation and create the common language so often missing between 'business' and IT.
M&A - Making 1+1 = 5:
Leading companies are using the SCOR Model to put together the pieces of the puzzle and make the sum greater than their individual parts! Learn how companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Compaq created a common language and measurement system to ensure their integration created value for their shareholders and pushed them into an industry-leadership position.
Mitigate Risk - Taking Out The Insurance Policy:
Mitigating risk starts with defining the probability of potential events occurring and then placing a value on their impact. This webcast will look at the newly introduced SCOR metric Value-at-Risk (VAR) and how it is taking lessons learned from the finance community and applying them to supply chain. We will look at why this is being well received as a measurement to evaluate the need for mitigating risk and as a driver for decision-making.
The Supply Chain Council (SCC) is a global non-profit association whose methodology, diagnostic and benchmarking tools help nearly a thousand organizations make dramatic and rapid improvements in supply chain processes. SCC has established the supply chain world's most widely accepted framework for evaluating and comparing supply chain activities and their performance. The framework—the SCOR® process reference model—lets companies quickly determine and compare the performance of supply chain and related operations within their company or against other companies.
SCC continually advances its tools and educates implementers about how companies and organizations are capitalizing on those tools. By using its tools, SCC members are able to rapidly overcome the first difficult step in supply chain improvement: determining what processes to improve first and how much to improve them. Members also use SCC's reference models to guide the consolidation of internal supply chains (which results in significant cost reductions from eliminating duplicative assets); create standard processes and common information systems across business units (which generates major cost savings, cycle-time and quality improvements); and create a common SCORcard by which customers can measure their performance and by which SCC members can measure suppliers' performance (which can lead to major cross-organizational process improvements).
