James Rowan is Chief Operating Officer at Dyson and has over 20 years of operational and supply chain experience. He is responsible for all aspects of the core operational functions including research design and development, product introduction, supply chain, logistics, planning, manufacturing and returns and repairs and international technical services.

Prior to joining RIM, James was Chief Operating Officer at Research In Motion (BlackBerry) where he was responsible for new product introduction, supply chain, logistics, planning, manufacturing and repair services. Jim also headed general cost optimisation programs across the company with a $1bn annual cost down challenge.

James has also served as Executive Vice President of World Wide Operations for Celestica, at the time a $9 billion electronic contact manufacturer. Before this, he worked for Flextronics as the Vice President of Operations for their European Region, and founded two start-ups.

James studied Mechanical and Production Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow School of Technology.
