Quentin Roach heads up procurement operations at Merck. He is responsible for companywide expenditures in excess of $17.5bn, external manufacturing operations, supplier development and performance management processes, and productivity and cash conversion management improvement initiatives. He also oversees the company’s Supplier Diversity processes which are focused on ensuring an inclusive environment for engagement of diverse and small businesses.

Quentin has experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, and automotive industries. He worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as Senior Vice President & Chief Procurement Officer and at Bausch & Lomb Inc. as Vice President of Global Customer Strategy, Supply Chain/Sourcing & Procurement and Packaging Engineering. He was also Chief Procurement Officer and Director of Operations for Strong Health/The University of Rochester and held positions at Delphi Corporation and General Motors Corporation.

Quentin holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management of Technology from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. A lifelong learner, he has completed Executive Development Programs through both the Thunderbird International Consortium and Columbia University.

He has been involved in a number of organisations and boards including the National Black MBA Association, SCM World, the National Association of Manufacturers, the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame, The Institute for Supply Management – Editorial Review Board, Garth Fagan Dance Company, The Center for Youth Services, The Trumpet Awards Foundation, the Executive Leadership Council, and the National Advisory Board for the Arts Visitation Program. He was recognised as a “Top 10 Most Inspiring Leader” by Executive 50.
